Halloween

Here are some Halloween Colouring pages.

Print them out and let the kids colour them in. I have included a couple of Adults colouring pages too. Enjoy.

Colouring in has loads of benefits : improves handwriting skill, focus, relaxation and motor skills. These are just some benefits of colouring. Colouring in for an adult can help with headaches and help to unwind.
here is a link to a blog post about it

Mermaid Toilet Roll Crafts

Mermaid Toilet Roll Crafts
To make the cute mermaids.
  • Toilet Roll Cores
  • Coloured Paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • Glitter
  • Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
Paint your toilet paper tubes in peach, tan, or brown. (I didn’t have any of those colours, so I mixed together orange, green, and white to create a nice tan colour.) Once the paint is dry, draw on the face with a marker or stick on googly eyes. Cut out the hair, bra, skirt, and tail bits from brightly coloured construction paper. Use the markers and glitter to fun details. For the bra you can use fun shape sequins.  Shown below is idea for the hair etc. To curl the hair piece wrap it around a marker

Have fun :)

Picture Bingo

Picture Bingo is a fun way to keep the children entertained, during walks or car trips.
Print out for the children, use a pen or something to mark what they have found. Or you can keep these for a rainy day. Print out enough for the children and one for cutting up and put that one in bowl or a hat.. The bingo caller can pull one out and tell the others what it it. :)

D.I.Y Fidget Spinners

fidget spinner is a type of stress-relieving toy. A basic fidget spinner consists of a bearing in the center of a design made from any of a variety of materials including brass, stainless steel, titanium, copper and plastic. The toy has been advertised to may help people who have trouble focusing or fidgeting (such as those with ADHDautism, or anxiety) by acting as a release mechanism for nervous energy or stress. Fidget Spinners have been out since 1990's but has became popular toys in 2017. You can get these in a variety of shops. Amazon sells these from £1.7 to £20.00. Ebay has them for £0.99.

Here is alternative version you can make at home, all you need is:

  • cardboard (though several sheets of paper can be used too)
  • a toothpick
  • coins
  • strong PVA glue
  • scissors and “pokey things” like a needle
Here is a blog which has more details on how to make these. And it also has other ways of making Fidget Spinners.

Love Heart Jewellery Suncatcher

Love Heart Jewellery Sun Catcher

Prefect for Valentine's Day or even Mother's Day or for your self.

What you will need to create.

Large Plastic Milk Jug
Scissors
Hole puncher
Jewels, glitter or sequins.
Ribbon

How To Make Recycled Pretty Jewelled Heart Suncatchers
Wash and dry your plastic milk jug and then cut out the large flat rectangular sides. (Make sure your plastic milk jug is thoroughly clean or the stale milk smell will ruin your suncatchers.) With a marker pen or pencil draw on your heart shape and cut it out. Very young children may need some adult help to cut the plastic. Use a simple hole punch at the top of the heart to make a hole for threading your ribbon. Cover one side of the heart thickly with glue. Now stick on your jewels, glitter or sequins and set the heart aside to dry.
Once your heart suncatcher is completely dry you can thread some ribbon through the hole at the top and hang it in the window.
These homemade sun catchers are such a simple and adaptable idea, once the children have made the suncatcher, they can create other shapes, and sizes.
